Don’t Discourage Yourself
SHAYEAL PHELEMBA:
When they say write a biography about yourself, you’re so eager to write about all your wins and none of your losses. My journey is not a fairytale nor is it made up. I’m real and so are you. I have a Marketing degree and Fashion Certificate (Apparel Fit Technician), those are my educational credentials. My other credentials are not taught but done. I’m actively involved in Entertainment, Fashion and more. I travel and currently am travelling. I started to build my own brand. One of my proudest accomplishments was committing to the YD program (now EDGE) and meeting Pat Gloudon, Lance Wilson , Tracy Grant and the other committee members. I still remember our dance routine. There are so many amazing skills you learn and people to introduce yourself too. If you are here at this brunch as a youth, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, parent or just interested in this program, please know I am active in our community because of leaders who taught me hard skills, soft skills and were strong shoulders to stand on. Feel free to connect with me. Ask for my contact information afterwards. Speak with confidence. Don’t discourage yourself. I was you once there too. #imstillgrowingtoo. 2013 Debutante – Shayeal Phelemba
